The Hotel Guestrooms
Three Villas, dating back to the days of the Medici (16th century): the Noble Villa (Villa Nobile), the Old Oil Mill (Vecchio Frantoio) and the Little Villa (Villina) comprise the complex of Villa la Massa which, from an ancient dwelling of the aristocracy, was turned into a hotel in 1948. The hotel offers its guests 37 rooms, all different from one another, and all recently refurbished in the traditional Florentine style. Spacious and airy rooms are filled with antique furniture, fabrics have been woven at the historic Florentine textile mills, wrought iron and woodwork from the famous old-time Florence cabinet makers are found in the bedrooms and their sitting rooms. Bathrooms and their fittings are done in a style reflecting the atmosphere of times gone and are fitted with Cararra marble. Many have windows framing the beautiful Tuscan landscape. Scattered throughout the three buildings, the rooms overlook the River Arno and the gardens. Every bathroom has at least one window with a view. Some of the bedrooms have canopy beds with wrought iron bedsteads. The average size for this category of rooms goes from 35 to 40 square meters or 375 feet to 430 square feet.
